2008 Summer Program
August 4-8

This summer day program (9am-12noon) focuses on introducing talented middle school students in mathematics to successful MATHCOUNTS® problem-solving techniques.

Description
MATHCOUNTS® is a national math enrichment, coaching, and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics in every state and U.S. territory.

Eligibility
Middle scchool students (boys and girls) should be enrolled in the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade during the 2007-08 academic year and have the recommendation of their mathematics teacher.

Instructors
Adrian Mitrea (Adrian is an incoming freshman at the California Institute of Technology studying engineering and is also a former MathCounts participant); Diana Mitrea (Diana is a rising senior at Cornell University studying engineering and has partcipated in the competition as well as coached for two years the team from the Smithton Middle School, Missouri); Irina Mitrea (Irina is a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Virginia and coach of the Sutherland Middle School, Virginia).
